Commissioning Engineer (Process)

About the role

The Process Commissioning Engineer works with the commissioning group during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of a gas plant project (Hail & Ghasha, 4422 UAE) in Al Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. He reports to the Commissioning Manager or Commissioning Superintendent, and functionally to the Process Manager and the PROCS Head of Department, while complying with quality, health, environmental and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist during construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning, and help the commissioning team troubleshoot process problems.
• Help finalize pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures, and utilities, feed stocks and products consumption schedules.
• Support the preparation of procedures for initial filling of catalysts, chemicals, resins and feed stocks, and coordinate morning activities.
• Take part in internal inspections of rely-upon items, and check interlocks, logic and sequences against process requirements.
• Follow field operations when requested, attend the Pre-Start-Up HSSE survey, and support machine and package start-ups, approving temporary modifications to interlocks or complex loops where needed.
• Verify operating conditions, provide temporary plant modifications, and check vendor performance tests and their final reports.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in industrial construction of large or XL gas plants, covering a similar role on at least 2-3 projects of comparable size.
• Minimum of 7 years of overall experience; contractor-side experience preferred.
