Commissioning Machinery Supervisor – Rotating

About the role

The Commissioning Machinery Supervisor (Rotating) will lead pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities for the Borouge 4 plant in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi. The role operates on a 60‑day on‑site / 10‑day off rotation and requires close coordination with vendors, subcontractors, and the commissioning team to ensure safe and efficient plant start‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed pre‑commissioning procedures for machinery and packages, including functional test plans.
• Conduct field checks, generate punch lists, and drive closure of outstanding items in line with commissioning priorities.
• Supervise vendor specialists and subcontractor teams, ensuring compliance with safety rules and plant procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs, produce certification documents, and hand them to the QA/QC engineer.
• Oversee planned and corrective maintenance of plant units during commissioning.
• Issue and receive Permits to Work as authorized by the site manager.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in rotating equipment commissioning and plant start‑up.
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and coordinate with vendors.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
