Commissioning Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning phase of the Southeast Project for a leading consulting firm in Abu Dhabi. The role involves planning, coordinating and executing pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities across multiple disciplines to ensure safe and timely hand‑over of the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, monitor and update detailed commissioning plans, schedules and procedures.
• Lead pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities on‑site, ensuring alignment with mechanical completion and construction hand‑over.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) and manage interactions with EPC contractors, vendors, subcontractors and client operations.
• Track progress, report status and address technical, schedule or resource constraints.
• Review and approve commissioning documentation such as check sheets, test packs and procedures.
• Lead troubleshooting, punch‑list clearance, system start‑up, energisation and performance testing.
• Ensure all activities comply with HSE requirements and project safety standards.
• Support final system hand‑over and project close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or EPC projects.
• At least 5 years in a commissioning management or leadership role.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary commissioning teams on large‑scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of system completion, punch management and hand‑over processes.
• Excellent coordination, leadership and communication skills.
