Material Engineer

About the role

The Material Engineer will play a critical role in our Pumps team, responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing mechanical items such as valves, strainers, and other components across various projects. The ideal candidate will ensure all specifications are met and that each item selected is the best financial option, balancing performance and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate technical documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct thorough reviews of mechanical design codes to ensure alignment with project needs and compliance with industry standards.
• Evaluate mechanical items for performance, reliability, and cost‑effectiveness, providing recommendations for optimal solutions.
• Ensure all mechanical designs adhere to quality and safety standards and collaborate with quality control teams for testing and validation.
• Work closely with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders, participating in project meetings and contributing to planning and scheduling.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with proven experience reviewing components such as valves and strainers.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and practices.
• Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including ASME and ANSI.
