Compliance Manager – FCRA & Projects

About the role

The Compliance Manager will protect Mashreq Bank from financial penalties and regulatory actions by ensuring strict adherence to Financial Crime Controls (FCC) and AML/CFT regulations. You will lead the FCRA function, oversee AML projects, and act as a key liaison with regulators and internal audit teams.

Key responsibilities

• Embed AML/CFT controls into bank processes and ensure they are maintained through an automated system.
• Facilitate external regulatory examinations, internal audits, and coordinate timely closure of audit findings.
• Monitor emerging money‑laundering trends and provide recommendations aligned with the bank’s risk‑based AML policy.
• Conduct investigations as required by regulators, AML/CFT, sanctions, and compliance units.
• Assist Head‑Office Compliance in drafting bank‑wide policies, including AML policy and KYC guidance for high‑risk jurisdictions.
• Lead compliance regulatory projects and oversee their implementation across Mashreq locations.
• Maintain strong relationships with regulatory authorities, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of queries.
• Develop and manage record‑keeping processes and meet budget expectations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in AML, CFT, and financial crime compliance within a banking environment.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to drive regulatory initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities, especially with regulators and internal audit teams.
• Ability to analyze trends, recommend improvements, and implement compliance frameworks.
