Compliance Officer / MLRO

About the role

The Compliance Officer / MLRO will provide expert advisory services across the organisation, ensuring that all business activities comply with global and local regulations. Based in Abu Dhabi, the role reports directly to the Head of Compliance and will evolve as the business grows.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on cross‑border and region‑specific regulatory requirements.
• Conduct AML due diligence and respond to AML/KYC inquiries from third parties.
• Handle regulatory inquiries and maintain ongoing engagement with regulators.
• Perform regulatory reviews, reporting and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
• Communicate compliance requirements clearly to regulators and external parties, both verbally and in writing.
• Investigate transaction monitoring alerts and collaborate with relevant departments to mitigate risks.
• Document all reviews and investigative findings thoroughly.
• Develop, update and align compliance policies and procedures with evolving local regulations.
• Liaise between compliance, legal and risk management to ensure a coordinated approach.
• Support ad‑hoc projects and tasks, ensuring timely execution.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of experience in a compliance officer or MLRO role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a proactive, hands‑on approach.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high‑quality standards.
• Keen attention to detail while keeping a strategic, big‑picture perspective.
• Solid understanding of regulatory, reputational and compliance risks.
• Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
