Connected Chiller Lead Technician

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a hands‑on specialist to turn remote chiller insights into field actions. You will work closely with service, remote operations and sales teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce nuisance alarms.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prioritize open alarms across the connected chiller portfolio, focusing on critical and high‑risk conditions.
• Run regular review sessions with HVAC field line managers to agree actions, ownership and closure dates.
• Escalate safety‑related conditions quickly and support troubleshooting with clear technical information.
• Maintain trackers for alarms, virtual inspection reports, site visits, opportunities and outcomes.
• Visit sites when needed to verify findings, diagnose chiller condition and define rectification scope.
• Prepare technical recommendations including corrective actions, required parts, labour estimates and urgency.
• Support the commercial cycle by clarifying scope, joining customer discussions and handing work over to operations.
• Onboard newly connected chillers and resolve offline or poorly communicating assets.

Required profile

• Diploma, associate degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air‑Conditioning or related field.
• Typically 5+ years of hands‑on HVAC service experience with air‑cooled or water‑cooled chillers.
• Strong practical knowledge of chiller cycles, compressors, evaporators, condensers, pumps, valves, sensors and controls.
• Ability to interpret alarms, operating data, trends, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Good written and spoken English.
