Construction Engineer I – Preservation & Maintenance

About the role

Petrofac, a leading international service provider to the energy industry, is seeking an Engineer I – Construction (Preservation & Maintenance) for its Abu Dhabi operations. The role will implement and manage the project preservation programme throughout the construction and commissioning phases, ensuring equipment and materials are protected and handed over in line with company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the project preservation programme from receipt of equipment/materials to hand‑over, following the approved Project Preservation Procedure.
• Lead on‑site preservation engineers to monitor the preservation programme and ensure compliance.
• Gather preservation activity data and report status updates and KPI’s to project management.
• Liaise with company, vendors, construction partners, subcontractors, QA/QC and other discipline heads on preservation and cleanliness matters.
• Review and approve subcontractors’ clean‑build and preservation plans.
• Develop and apply preservation check‑sheets and Inspection Test Records (P‑ITRs), ensuring coverage of critical equipment.
• Schedule and conduct regular walkthroughs and field inspections, capture findings and initiate follow‑up actions with supply chain, construction and commissioning teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 60 months (5 years) of relevant experience in preservation, construction or related engineering activities.
