Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon – Abu Dhabi

About the role

A leading, internationally accredited healthcare provider in the UAE is expanding its cardiothoracic surgical services. The organisation seeks a highly skilled Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join a multidisciplinary clinical team delivering advanced cardiac and thoracic care to a diverse, international patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage patients with a wide range of cardiac and thoracic conditions.
• Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures in line with clinical privileges and subspecialty expertise.
• Develop treatment plans, obtain informed consent and oversee pre‑operative, peri‑operative and post‑operative care.
• Manage surgical complications and ensure continuity of care.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, pulmonologists and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, surgical audits, quality‑improvement and clinical‑governance activities.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with patient‑safety, infection‑control and international standards.

Required profile

• Internationally trained Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon with recognised specialist qualification (e.g., American Board of Thoracic Surgery, UK CCT/FRCS, European Board, Royal College Canada, Australian FRACS, Arab Board, MD/MS/DNB/FCPS).
• Eligibility to practice in the UAE and ability to obtain required licensure.
• Experience working in a high‑volume, multi‑disciplinary hospital environment.
