Senior Aviation Medical Examiner

About the role

The Senior Aviation Medical Examiner will manage clinical caseload and provide medical expertise in Aviation Medicine to ensure high‑quality care for air crew, complying with regulatory standards and international best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized care in accordance with HAAD rules and Civil Aviation regulations to determine fit‑to‑fly conditions.
• Respond to and handle medical emergencies in the Medical Centre, delivering required care to ensure patient health and safety.
• Participate in review and planning activities to increase operational efficiency of specialist services.
• Take part in medical audits required by health and aviation authorities for licensing compliance.
• Collect and analyse data on specialist services and report insights to management.
• Assist in formulating policies, procedures and directives governing aviation and preventative medicine.
• Develop clinical care pathways with strategic healthcare partners to ensure seamless service for air crew.
• Provide general medicine consultations when needed.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma in Medicine with post‑graduation qualification in Aviation Medicine recognised by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi.
• License from HAAD to practice within the specialty.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years in aviation medicine.
• Strong awareness and understanding of HAAD/GCAA regulations and standards.
