Consultant Emergency Medicine

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for an experienced Consultant in Emergency Medicine to join its fast‑paced emergency department. The role involves delivering high‑quality acute care, leading resuscitation teams, and supporting junior staff in a multidisciplinary hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Rapid assessment, diagnosis, stabilization and treatment of medical, surgical, traumatic, cardiac, neurological and respiratory emergencies.
• Lead and participate in resuscitation and advanced life‑support procedures.
• Perform emergency procedures such as airway management, intubation, procedural sedation, wound management and fracture stabilization.
• Coordinate patient care with ICU, surgery, radiology and other specialist teams.
• Determine patient disposition – admission, transfer, observation or discharge – and ensure accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Supervise, mentor and train junior physicians and emergency department staff.

Required profile

• Medical degree from a recognized institution.
• American Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Canadian Royal College Certification.
• Relevant post‑board clinical experience in emergency medicine.
• Current medical license and eligibility for DHA Consultant licensing in Dubai.
• Strong experience in emergency resuscitation, trauma, critical care and acute medical management.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, leadership and teamwork skills.
