Consultant Gastroenterologist

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is looking for an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to work on site. The specialist will diagnose and manage digestive disorders and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The advertised salary range is 720,000 to 840,000.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas and biliary system
• Treat conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders and gastrointestinal bleeding
• Perform gastroscopy and colonoscopy and interpret endoscopic findings
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans, with long-term follow-up
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists and other specialists
• Counsel patients on treatment options, diet and preventive care
• Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to clinical quality improvement

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree
• MD/DNB in General Medicine or equivalent, followed by DM/DNB or equivalent specialization in Gastroenterology
• Significant post-specialization experience at consultant level
• Experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership and patient communication skills
