Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon – Hip & Knee

About the role

The Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon – Hip & Knee will deliver expert surgical care for patients with hip and knee disorders across SEHA’s network. This senior position involves performing complex joint procedures, overseeing patient pathways, and contributing to multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat a wide range of hip and knee conditions, including osteoarthritis, fractures, and deformities.
• Perform total hip and knee replacements, revision arthroplasty, minimally invasive joint surgeries, and arthroscopies.
• Manage pre‑operative, intra‑operative, and post‑operative care to ensure optimal recovery.
• Collaborate with physiotherapists, pain specialists, rheumatologists, and other clinicians.
• Lead outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, and surgical rounds.
• Supervise junior surgeons, residents, and allied health staff while participating in teaching activities.
• Maintain accurate documentation in SEHA’s electronic medical record system.
• Participate in quality‑assurance programs, morbidity‑mortality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Residency in Orthopedic Surgery and fellowship training in Hip and Knee Surgery or Arthroplasty.
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery with subspecialty credentials.
• Valid DOH Consultant License (or eligibility to obtain).
• Minimum 5 years post‑board experience focused on hip and knee procedures.
