Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon

About the role

The Consultant Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon will join the Division of Paediatric Orthopaedics at SKMC, providing expert clinical care, leadership, and support to junior staff in a high‑volume tertiary centre.

Key responsibilities

• Support and implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and initiatives.
• Lead performance management processes, including peer review and productivity assessments.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and ensuring continuous medical coverage.
• Oversee clinical activities of junior medical staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Diagnose, treat and manage paediatric orthopaedic patients according to best‑practice standards.
• Lead ward rounds, document clinical information promptly, and review investigation results to adjust treatment plans.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with other specialties and support services.
• Ensure compliance with SEHA policies, maintain licensure, certification and mandatory training.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with specialization in Paediatric Orthopaedics.
• Board certification (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, or equivalent Western board) and fellowship or additional certification in Paediatric Orthopaedics.
• Current national medical licence or equivalent.
• Minimum of five years post‑specialisation experience.
• Proof of yearly CME and compliance with SEHA regulatory requirements.
