Consultant Pediatric Craniofacial Surgeon

About the role

We are seeking a Consultant Pediatric Craniofacial Surgeon to join our multidisciplinary team at Sheikh Khalifa Medical Center. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based surgical care to children with craniofacial conditions and leading clinical activities across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise delivery of evidence‑based pediatric craniofacial surgical care.
• Conduct patient examinations, obtain histories, order and interpret investigations, prescribe treatments and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Oversee ward rounds, manage both inpatient and outpatient cases, and ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train junior medical staff, including residents and general practitioners.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and collaborate with other specialties.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with hospital, departmental and DOH regulations.
• Engage in quality improvement activities, clinical audits and risk management.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families, obtaining informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree with postgraduate qualification (MD, MS, DNB) and successful completion of a recognized specialty training program.
• 3–7 years of post‑specialty clinical experience in a multidisciplinary setting.
• Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) license to practice in Abu Dhabi.
• Ability to meet primary source verification and any required DOH approvals.
