Consultant Pediatric Dermatology

About the role

The Abu Dhabi Region health authority seeks a Consultant in Pediatric Dermatology to deliver expert diagnosis and management of skin, hair and nail disorders in infants, children and adolescents. The role involves providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care in line with SEHA standards within a tertiary hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of pediatric dermatologic conditions, including atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, hemangiomas, vascular malformations, genetic skin disorders, infections, acne and birthmarks.
• Perform skin biopsies and minor dermatologic procedures appropriate for children.
• Deliver laser therapy and other advanced treatments when indicated.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, geneticists and other specialists to develop multidisciplinary care plans.
• Educate patients and families on disease management, skincare routines and treatment adherence.
• Document all consultations, procedures and follow‑up in the hospital’s electronic medical record system.
• Lead pediatric dermatology clinics, supervise residents and junior staff, and contribute to teaching programs.
• Participate in clinical audits, research projects and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completed residency in Dermatology.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Dermatology and board certification in Dermatology.
• Valid DOH Consultant License in Dermatology (or eligibility).
• Minimum five years post‑board experience in Dermatology, with at least two years focused on pediatric practice.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing complex and rare pediatric skin disorders.
