Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist

About the role

Astra ProMed is seeking a highly qualified Consultant Pediatric Rheumatologist to join its multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering expert care to children and adolescents with rheumatologic, autoimmune, and musculoskeletal disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions, including juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, and vasculitis.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor disease progression.
• Prescribe and oversee pharmacological and biologic therapies.
• Coordinate care with pediatricians, immunologists, orthopedists, physiotherapists, and other specialists.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and families.
• Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, clinical meetings, audits, and quality‑improvement programs.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD) from a recognized institution.
• Postgraduate qualification in Pediatrics with fellowship or subspecialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology.
• Relevant clinical experience as defined by UAE PQR guidelines.
• Valid professional license or eligibility for DOH licensing in Abu Dhabi.
• Proven experience managing pediatric rheumatologic and autoimmune conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication skills, especially with children and families.
