Consultant Pediatric Surgeon – Abu Dhabi

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Consultant Pediatric Surgeon to join a leading tertiary healthcare facility in Abu Dhabi. The role involves delivering comprehensive surgical care to infants, children and adolescents across a wide spectrum of congenital, acquired and traumatic conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage congenital anomalies, abdominal, thoracic, tumor and trauma cases in pediatric patients.
• Perform elective and emergency pediatric surgical procedures, including complex neonatal surgeries.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and develop individualized pre‑ and post‑operative plans.
• Collaborate with neonatology, pediatric ICU, anesthesia, radiology and other subspecialties for integrated care.
• Participate in emergency surgical coverage, trauma response and on‑call duties.
• Ensure documentation complies with DOH Abu Dhabi regulations and hospital policies.
• Contribute to clinical audits, research, teaching and continuing medical education.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi.
• Board certification or fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.
• Valid DOH Consultant License or eligibility letter in Pediatric Surgery.
• Minimum 5–7 years post‑board consultant experience in a tertiary or academic hospital.
• Strong expertise in neonatal and complex pediatric surgical procedures.
• Excellent communication and multidisciplinary teamwork abilities.
