Consultant Physician – Otolaryngology

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Otolaryngology leads the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based ENT care at SKMC. You will diagnose, manage and treat patients while providing clinical leadership and training to junior medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor junior physicians, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
• Implement hospital, departmental and divisional policies and procedures.
• Participate in performance management, peer review, and productivity monitoring.
• Assist the Division Chief with scheduling, recruitment and ensuring adequate medical coverage.
• Lead ward rounds, review investigations, modify treatment plans and document clinical information promptly.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary meetings and liaise with other specialties and support services.
• Provide on‑call coverage on a rotational basis, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.
• Obtain informed consent and communicate clinical information to patients and families.

Required profile

• Demonstrated clinical excellence in otolaryngology.
• Experience in leading and training junior medical staff.
• Ability to adhere to hospital policies and best‑practice standards.
• Strong organizational skills for scheduling and coverage planning.
