Consultant Physician – Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

About the role

The Consultant Physician in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery will join SSMC in Abu Dhabi to deliver comprehensive care to patients with traumatic injuries and a range of medical conditions. The role combines clinical expertise, patient education, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Examine patients, obtain detailed medical histories and address their concerns.
• Diagnose and treat injuries, illnesses, and disorders, including surgical and non‑surgical interventions.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, communicating results clearly to patients.
• Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, preventive health measures and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications or therapies and explain medical procedures.
• Collaborate with other physicians, refer to specialists when needed, and work closely with nursing and support staff.
• Ensure compliance with relevant medical laws and regulations, such as patient privacy standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree with successful completion of residency and internship.
• Current state license and certification to practice medicine.
• Broad knowledge and experience in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of conditions.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving and detail‑oriented skills.
• Patience, compassion and a commitment to continuous learning.
