Contracts Director – Data Centre

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contracts Director to lead the commercial and contractual strategy for data centre development and expansion programmes for a leading developer in Dubai. The role involves negotiating and managing complex agreements that support the full lifecycle of mission‑critical facilities, from site acquisition through construction and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the commercial and contractual strategy for data centre projects.
• Negotiate and manage core location agreements covering site, land, power, connectivity and access.
• Develop and negotiate agreements for core spaces, technical areas, white space, equipment rooms and utility infrastructure.
• Oversee contracts related to capacity, space allocation, power availability, cooling, security and critical infrastructure.
• Lead commercial negotiations with landlords, developers, operators, utilities, infrastructure providers, contractors and strategic customers.
• Draft, review and negotiate MSAs, leases, licences, development, service and capacity agreements and associated schedules.
• Establish contractual frameworks for new locations and expansion programmes, managing risk, liability, warranties, insurance and performance obligations.
• Partner with Legal, Development, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, Operations and Programme Management teams.
• Provide senior‑level commercial advice to executive stakeholders and ensure contract compliance, variations, claims, disputes and renewals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data centre development contracts and commercial negotiations.
• Strong understanding of core location agreements, site arrangements and strategic infrastructure contracts.
• Ability to manage complex contractual risk and governance across multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills with a focus on delivering operational resilience and capacity requirements.
