Critical Facilities Engineer – Data Center

About the role

Equinix is seeking a Critical Facilities Engineer to maintain and improve the electrical and mechanical infrastructure of its Dubai data centre. You will work within a close‑knit operations team, ensuring the reliability of core systems that power the digital world.

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
• Conduct site inspections, supervise building and IBX alarms, and ensure preventative maintenance is executed.
• Oversee vendor work on primary infrastructure and verify compliance.
• Maintain accurate site logs, permits, MOPs and scripts.
• Assist senior staff with incident response and handle basic incidents independently.
• Complete work requests, circuit installations and small projects such as lighting upgrades.
• Resolve client tickets via the Equinix ticket system within SLA.
• Report health and safety issues to the line manager.

Required profile

• Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in data centre or other critical environments.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
• Strong communication skills with customers.
