Cybersecurity Engineer

About the role

Join the growing cybersecurity team at Alef Education, an EdTech leader, to protect data and infrastructure across multiple programs. You will work closely with development and IT operations teams to design, implement, and operate security solutions that safeguard our platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document, plan and implement data privacy and security programs, including tool selection and deployment.
• Provide daily security operations support and act as a point of contact for security incidents.
• Assist development and operations teams with secure application configuration, monitoring and automation.
• Test, debug and troubleshoot platform‑level security issues.
• Collaborate with third‑party providers and internal services to integrate security solutions.
• Participate in sprint planning to ensure projects are deployable and monitorable.
• Contribute to 2nd‑line support and out‑of‑hours rotation as needed.
• Advise on security best practices and support budgeting processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of cybersecurity experience.
• Active CISSP and CISM certifications.
• Proven experience securing microservices and public‑cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of security architecture, processes and governance.

Required skills

• Security solution design and data privacy program implementation.
• IPS/IDS, network malware protection, CASB, forward/reverse proxies, NG firewalls, GPO, PKI, email security.
• DLP, DRM, database security.
• SIEM management, vulnerability assessment, threat‑intel integration.
• Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP).
• IAM lifecycle management – SSO, MFA, Cloud IDP.
• CISSP, CISM certifications.
