Data Architect – AI & Big Data Platforms

About the role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation in Abu Dhabi, is expanding its AI function and needs a seasoned Data Architect. You will design and build robust, enterprise‑scale data platforms that power both operational reporting and advanced analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, cleanse and transform high‑volume data from diverse sources.
• Ensure data reliability, accessibility and performance for business and analytical use cases.
• Collaborate with software engineering and AI/ML teams to apply best practices in data governance, security and quality.
• Continuously optimise pipeline performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Document data architectures, lineage and metadata to support transparency and long‑term scalability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
• Proven hands‑on experience with Databricks (or similar) and building AI use cases.
• Strong background in automated pipeline orchestration using Airflow, Luigi and dbt.
• Deep understanding of big‑data architectures and performance optimisation.
• Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in Python plus Scala or Java.
• Experience with cloud‑based data platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
