AVP Accounting & Cost Management

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Accounting and Cost Management will lead all cost‑related activities for the Personal and Private Banking segments. The role ensures accurate cost booking, review, analysis and reporting, while managing accruals, amortisations and manual adjustments in line with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate all costs recognised in the profit‑and‑loss statement to guarantee correct reporting.
• Maintain a robust cost‑booking structure and analyse monthly cost lines for unusual movements, initiating corrective actions when needed.
• Manage the divisions’ accruals process, ensuring expenses and income are recorded in the appropriate periods.
• Oversee monthly manual adjustments, posting them to core banking systems and maintaining related documentation.
• Process purchase requisitions, conduct finance reviews for budget availability and ensure proper approval hierarchy.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Accounting or Finance; CA/ACCA/CPA certification preferred.
• Approximately 5+ years of banking experience in similar cost‑management roles.
• Strong understanding of retail banking operations and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Experience with core banking systems for posting and adjustments.
