Data QA Engineer

About the role

ClearGrid is seeking a Data QA Engineer to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data that powers its AI‑driven debt collection platform. You will work closely with data engineers and product teams to validate pipelines, monitor data health, and prevent costly errors in client reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test coverage in dbt models, including business‑rule tests for collections logic.
• Perform source‑to‑warehouse reconciliation across MongoDB, telephony systems, client files and BigQuery.
• Monitor freshness, volume and schema drift of critical tables and define “broken” thresholds.
• Validate inbound client files for format, field integrity and encoding before processing.
• Conduct QA of Tableau dashboards and client reports, ensuring headline numbers reconcile with the warehouse.
• Pre‑release testing of new dbt models and metric definitions.
• Lead data incident response: detection, triage, stakeholder communication, root‑cause analysis and remediation.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in data quality, analytics engineering, BI QA or a data analyst role with strong quality ownership.
• Proven ability to design and execute data tests and to troubleshoot data pipelines.
• Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong SQL (CTEs, window functions, incremental patterns).
• Experience with dbt.
• Familiarity with BigQuery and MongoDB.
• Knowledge of Tableau and Streamlit for reporting.
