Datacenter Solution Engineer

About the role

Supermicro is looking for a Datacenter Solution Engineer to join its Global Service Installation Team. The role involves installing, configuring and supporting server, storage and networking equipment for customers in data centre environments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, rack‑and‑stack, and cabling of server, storage and network hardware.
• Route copper and fiber optic cables and verify connectivity.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure hardware is installed according to specifications.
• Conduct quality checks and functional testing after installation.
• Provide first‑line technical support via phone, email and ticketing system, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Travel to customer sites, both locally and internationally, including occasional weekend work.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience servicing complex X86 systems and components in a datacenter environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Dutch MBO4 acceptable).
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with X86 server hardware.
• Installation and configuration of storage and network equipment.
• Copper and fiber optic cabling.
• Hardware troubleshooting and break‑fix procedures.
• Use of ticketing systems for incident management.
