Deckhand – Marine Operations Support

About the role

The Deckhand will support daily deck operations on multicat and support vessels, ensuring safe and efficient execution of dredging, reclamation, and marine construction activities. Working closely with the vessel command and operational teams, the role involves handling anchoring, mooring, towing, and various deck equipment to maintain project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Execute anchoring, mooring, towing and barge handling operations in coordination with the crew.
• Assist with installation, connection and disconnection of floating pipelines, sinker lines, riser pipes and shore connections.
• Operate winches, manage pipeline tensioning, slack and positioning of floating and submerged pipeline systems.
• Support dredging tasks such as CSD shifting, TSHD discharge operations and related marine support activities.
• Monitor deck equipment and floating pipelines, reporting defects, misalignment or hazards promptly.
• Handle lifting gear, pelican hooks, pontoons and other marine equipment safely during operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized deck environment and ensure compliance with HSE procedures and job safety analyses.
• Provide feedback to the Skipper or Captain on operational progress, equipment status and any incidents.

Required profile

• Technical School Certificate or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum six years of relevant experience in deck operations, dredging or marine construction.
• Ability to work with multicultural crews, demonstrate respect, flexibility and loyalty.
• Strong communication with superiors on watch and capability to identify and mitigate operational risks.
