Design Engineer (Geotechnical & Piling)

About the role

We are seeking a Design Engineer specialized in Geotechnical and Piling to join our client’s Operations – Engineering & Design team in Abu Dhabi. You will develop practical, buildable piling designs that support both tendering and project delivery, ensuring solutions are technically sound and commercially viable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise piling designs based on soil‑investigation data, structural information and project specifications.
• Prepare accurate engineering calculations, pile schedules and technical documentation.
• Interpret soil investigation reports and geotechnical parameters to inform design decisions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate design outputs and resolve technical issues.
• Support tender preparation and provide design input during construction phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in civil/geotechnical engineering with a strong focus on piling and foundation works.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in piling design, preferably with a specialist foundation contractor.
• Practical experience designing bored piles and/or CFA piles.
• Solid understanding of pile capacity, settlement, reinforcement and construction methodologies.
• UAE experience and knowledge of local ground conditions is highly advantageous.
