Design & Estimation Manager

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Design & Estimation Manager to lead our design and estimation team in Abu Dhabi. The role involves overseeing the preparation of engineering designs, cost estimates and proposals, while collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure high‑quality, compliant deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and mentor the design and estimation team to achieve high performance.
• Allocate tasks, set deadlines and monitor progress to meet project timelines.
• Oversee preparation and review of engineering designs, drawings, specifications and calculations.
• Develop detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and subcontractors.
• Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets and bid proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement and other departments.
• Act as the main point of contact for client queries related to design and estimation.
• Attend client meetings to gather requirements and present proposals.
• Ensure accuracy, quality and compliance of all deliverables and maintain proper documentation.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies and market prices, introducing innovative and sustainable solutions where applicable.
• Implement QHSE policies and procedures on‑site.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or related discipline).
• Proven experience in design and estimation management within engineering or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in fire‑protection system design.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (mandatory).
• Revit/BIM (advantage).
• Proficiency with design and estimation software/tools.
