Development Officer

About the role

The Development Officer will lead the creation and execution of the annual fundraising, community relations and communications strategy for Red Castle. Working closely with the Head of Executive Committee, you will develop action plans, set targets and manage budgets to support the organisation's mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the annual fundraising, community relations and communications strategy.
• Collaborate with the Head of Executive Committee to create an annual action plan, set targets and allocate budget.
• Monitor and report on fundraising activities to ensure efficient and professional delivery.
• Develop systems and processes for reporting outcomes to donors and providing information to potential donors.
• Coordinate the publication of the annual report.
• Represent the organisation at networking events within the community.
• Establish and nurture relationships with corporations, individuals, educational institutions, local authorities, commercial organisations and voluntary groups for sponsorship and support.
• Recruit, coordinate and manage volunteers.
• Work with the School Board Fundraising Committee as liaison and develop innovative fundraising initiatives and campaigns.
• Identify potential donors, write proposals, conduct solicitations and maintain strong follow‑up communication.
• Oversee specific campaigns such as Sponsor a Child, Greeting Card, and the Annual Gala Dinner.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations or community engagement.
• Ability to develop strategic plans, set targets and manage budgets.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• Experience coordinating volunteers and managing events.
• Excellent communication and networking abilities.
