Director, Loan Portfolio Management

About the role

The Director of Loan Portfolio Management will own a defined loan portfolio, driving both optimisation and day‑to‑day administration of the existing loan book. This senior position requires independent judgment, hands‑on execution and escalation of complex matters to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Own and optimise a defined loan portfolio, balancing balance‑sheet, risk and credit considerations.
• Manage the existing loan book, including waivers, amendments, covenant monitoring, annual reviews and credit monitoring.
• Lead portfolio transformation initiatives, system enhancements and strategic projects.
• Oversee credit risk, capital usage and portfolio trade‑offs while ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
• Provide clear, data‑driven recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Required profile

• 12+ years of banking experience, with at least 5 years in corporate loan markets and portfolio management.
• Proven track record of executing portfolio actions and handling problem credits.
• Strong understanding of loan structures, credit risk, capital allocation and corporate financial statements.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field; MBA or CFA advantageous.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication skills and awareness of UAE and regional markets.
