Director of Financial Control

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UAE institution building a digital‑first, AI‑enabled financial services organisation. As Director of Financial Control you will design and lead the bank’s financial control framework, ensuring accurate reporting, IFRS compliance and robust governance from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Own the general ledger, chart of accounts and overall financial control framework.
• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes to deliver timely, accurate financial statements.
• Establish and maintain IFRS accounting policies, controls and reconciliation procedures.
• Oversee regulatory and financial reporting, financial operations and tax activities.
• Manage capital measurement and reporting, working closely with Treasury and Risk teams.
• Build and lead a financial control team while implementing AI‑enabled finance and control processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of financial control or accounting experience in banking or financial services, including leadership of finance teams.
• Deep expertise in IFRS, general ledger management, reconciliations, close processes and financial controls.
• Proven track record of designing accounting policies, control frameworks and reporting processes in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of CBUAE reporting requirements, IFRS standards and Basel frameworks.
• Experience driving automation, advanced analytics or AI‑enabled finance solutions.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CPA.
