Finance Manager – Construction Industry Background

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager with a strong background in the construction industry to lead our financial operations, accounting, budgeting, cash‑flow management and project costing. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with UAE accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage overall finance and accounting functions, including monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections and financial plans.
• Track project‑wise financial performance, profitability, costs and budgets.
• Review project costing, revenue recognition, work‑in‑progress, retention, variations and claims.
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable, client collections and supplier/sub‑contractor payments.
• Analyse project costs against budgets, identify variances, cost overruns and financial risks.
• Maintain internal financial controls, ensure compliance with UAE VAT, corporate tax and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, banks, tax consultants and other financial institutions.
• Lead and supervise the finance and accounting team, providing analysis and business insights for decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related field.
• 8–12 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably within construction or contracting.
• 3–5 years in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance position.
• Strong knowledge of construction project accounting, WIP, cash‑flow, budgeting and forecasting.
• In‑depth understanding of UAE VAT and corporate tax requirements.
• Excellent analytical, financial planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and team‑management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
