Director of Sales & Marketing

About the role

The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead the hotel’s sales strategy, driving revenue through proactive and reactive sales initiatives and targeted marketing campaigns. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the sales team, manage the marketing budget, and ensure alignment with brand objectives across all channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the property’s sales and marketing strategy to achieve booking and revenue targets.
• Coordinate with Area Sales, Group Sales, Revenue Management, and Event Management to optimize channel participation.
• Act as the primary sales liaison for the General Manager, property leadership, and external customers.
• Manage the sales team, providing day‑to‑day leadership and performance coaching.
• Oversee the marketing budget, creating property‑specific campaigns, promotions, and collateral.
• Collaborate with regional marketing communications for national and regional promotions.
• Ensure compliance with sales processes, contracts, and brand standards.

Required profile

• Either a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management (or related) with 4 years of sales/marketing experience, or a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise a team.
• Experience in lodging or hotel sales with a record of progressive career growth.
