Director, Private Banking - Emiratized Role

About the role

The Director of Private Banking will lead the development of business across diverse markets, focusing on ultra‑high‑net‑worth (UHNWI) and high‑net‑worth (HNWI) clients both offshore and onshore. The role aims to deliver superior sales revenue and assets under management, increase FAB’s market share, and provide clients with an optimal level of service and comprehensive investment solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a portfolio of HNWI and UHNWI clients, delivering excellent service and generating net new business through referrals, contacts and marketing.
• Identify target markets, develop new business opportunities and implement the annual marketing plan for Private Banking.
• Coordinate cross‑selling initiatives with Relationship Managers and other Group functions globally.
• Oversee end‑to‑end project delivery, liaising with internal colleagues across the Group.
• Provide 24/7 ultra‑high‑level advice and solutions, ensuring compliance with KYC, AML, OFAC and PEP requirements.
• Monitor client portfolios for diversification, conduct regular reporting and support product development when required.
• Manage the UAE Private Banking office on a rotational basis and supervise support staff as needed.

Required profile

• In‑depth knowledge of FAB policies, AML, OFAC and KYC requirements for international private banking.
• Strong understanding of the three pillars of private banking: banking, fiduciary services and portfolio management.
• Experience with offshore jurisdictions (Switzerland, UK, US, Jersey, Cayman, BVI) and offshore structures such as trusts and foundations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of retail, corporate and treasury investment banking products, including derivatives.
• Ability to follow financial markets and provide holistic investment advice.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic; additional languages (French, Hindi, Urdu) are a plus.
