Duty Engineer – Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC

About the role

The Duty Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of all mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems within Accor’s facilities in Dubai. You will act quickly to resolve technical faults, support preventive maintenance and contribute to a safe, comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain mechanical, electrical and HVAC equipment to guarantee reliable operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical faults or equipment failures promptly.
• Carry out routine preventive maintenance to minimise breakdown risk.
• Respond to emergencies, alarms or safety hazards following established protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment status, maintenance activities and incidents.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet operational and technical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies and industry standards.
• Assist with the installation, commissioning and testing of new equipment or systems.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering field.
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical safety, mechanical maintenance).
• Proven experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of engineering systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Good problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently and handle emergencies calmly.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy for logging reports and using maintenance management systems.
