Economics Teacher – Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced Economics Teacher to join its IB World School community. The role involves delivering inquiry‑based economics lessons to secondary students and contributing to a vibrant, international learning environment. Immediate start is required.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based economics lessons that foster curiosity and critical thinking.
• Create an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learning styles, including EAL, gifted, and additional‑support students.
• Differentiate teaching strategies and integrate technology to enhance student engagement.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress, using data to inform personalised support.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB‑aligned curriculum, resources, and assessments.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• Degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in Economics.
• Minimum three years of secondary Economics teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Experience with MYP and DP is advantageous.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and student inspiration.

• Availability to start immediately.
