Electrical Design Engineer – BIM & Aviation Projects

About the role

Artelia is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical systems for infrastructure and aviation projects in the UAE. You will manage the full design lifecycle, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise on‑site installations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the electrical design process from concept to tender‑ready documentation using Revit (BIM), AutoCAD and AI‑driven design tools.
• Design MV/LV power distribution, backup systems (generators, UPS), lighting, fire alarms, BMS/SCADA, solar PV, and EV charging infrastructure.
• Perform load calculations, short‑circuit studies, voltage‑drop assessments and protection coordination with ETAP or equivalent software.
• Ensure designs meet IATA/ICAO airport standards and UAE authority codes (DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, SEC).
• Integrate sustainability criteria following Estidama and LEED frameworks and collaborate on BoQ and cost estimates.
• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and ITPs; supervise field installations and conduct rigorous site audits.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of electrical design experience, including at least 3 years on BIM‑enabled projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and active UAE Society of Engineers membership.
• Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, an Abu Dhabi engineering licence.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360.
• ETAP, Amtech, Dialux or equivalent simulation tools.
• Knowledge of British Standards, NFPA, IEC and UAE municipal regulations.
• Experience with AI‑driven electrical design platforms.
