Electrical Engineer – Transmission Line (Competent Person)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to act as the Competent Person (CP) for transmission line projects in the UAE. The role involves overseeing safe, compliant construction and installation activities while coordinating with multiple project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor all transmission line construction, erection, testing and related works.
• Conduct site inspections, identify hazards, and enforce UAE regulations, client standards and HSE requirements.
• Review and verify work permits, risk assessments, method statements and job safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, HSE and client teams to resolve technical and site issues.
• Monitor lifting, excavation, tower erection, stringing and conductor installation activities.
• Provide toolbox talks, technical guidance and safety instructions to site personnel.
• Report incidents, near‑misses and non‑conformities, and support corrective actions.

Required profile

• BE/BTech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience on transmission line projects, including at least 3 years in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of transmission line construction, HSE practices and work‑permit procedures.
• Good communication and coordination skills with contractors, consultants and client representatives.
