Electrician (Hotel Maintenance)

About the role

The Westin Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Electrician to join its Engineering & Facilities team in Dubai Marina. You will be the first point of contact for guest repair requests and will ensure that all electrical, mechanical and building systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest maintenance requests, communicating clearly with guests.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical room assets and HVAC systems, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to the next shift using approved communication standards.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair electrical components, plumbing fixtures, TV units and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler maintenance.
• Enter air‑handler schedules and adjust temperature settings via basic computer interfaces.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting hazards or incidents promptly.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment and energy‑conservation.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality and respect for company assets.
• Ability to work in a shift environment and communicate effectively with guests and team members.

Required skills

• Electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.
• Preventive maintenance of HVAC and mechanical equipment.
• Basic plumbing repairs (e.g., unclogging drains, fixing toilets).
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Painting, drywall and minor carpentry.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Basic computer skills for schedule input and TV programming.
