About the role
We are looking for an experienced Energy Journalist/Editor to produce breaking news and insightful analysis on global energy markets, with an initial focus on markets west of Suez. The role sits within Dow Jones Energy newsroom in Dubai and works closely with editors, price reporters and data‑visualisation teams.
Key responsibilities
- Originate and author timely news stories and deep‑dive pieces on energy trading, international policy and geopolitics.
- Source, clean and interpret diverse data sets and reports to uncover market trends.
- Produce short‑form video reels that explain complex energy topics.
- Collaborate with editors, writers and price reporters to integrate Dow Jones Energy price assessments into content.
- Maintain and develop sources across the energy and commodity sectors.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of journalism experience in a newsroom environment.
- Strong portfolio of energy‑focused breaking news and exclusive interviews.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, highly organised and detail‑oriented.
