Engineering Basic Instructor – Aircraft Maintenance Training

About the role

The Engineering Basic Instructor will deliver the UAE GCAA CAR 66 Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence (AMEL) programme and ab‑initio training courses. You will manage classroom and practical sessions, ensuring trainees acquire the accredited licence.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct GCAA/EASA‑approved classroom instruction for basic AMEL trainees.
• Plan and coordinate training programmes with the Engineering Basic Training Manager.
• Lead practical workshops covering fitting, sheet‑metal work, welding/soldering, composite repair, machining, engine shop, airframe systems and skill shops.
• Monitor trainee welfare, discipline, progress and provide counselling or recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with GCAA and EASA safety standards during practical training.
• Analyse post‑course evaluations and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate trainee postings with overhaul, line and base maintenance departments.
• Act as invigilator/examiner and SME for exam question development and review.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in engineering.
• Minimum 8 years engineering experience, at least 5 years in aviation engineering.
• At least 2 years delivering CAR 66/ab‑initio courses.
• Holder of a CAR 66 or ICAO‑equivalent Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence.
