Engineering Manager – Defence Engineering

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead multidisciplinary engineering workstreams for complex defence programmes at AL TARIQ in Abu Dhabi. This senior role oversees technical delivery, schedule, cost, quality and integration across systems, software, hardware and cybersecurity domains.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams covering systems, software, hardware, integration, test, cybersecurity and network.
• Plan resources, milestones, dependencies, risks and engineering priorities to meet programme objectives.
• Drive delivery against technical, schedule, cost, quality and integration targets.
• Act as the primary technical focal point for stakeholders, customers, suppliers and programme leadership.
• Support technical decisions, risk mitigation, change control and engineering governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in defence, aerospace, communications or mission‑critical technology.
• Proven track record leading engineering development activities and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering lifecycles, systems integration, verification and programme delivery.
• Experience working in regulated or defence environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Project for project planning.
• Experience using JIRA for issue tracking.
• Familiarity with DOORS or JAMA for requirements management.
• Knowledge of Confluence for collaboration.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
