English Teacher (ELA) – Full Time

About the role

The English Teacher (ELA) will join Al Qeyam School in Abu Dhabi, reporting to the Principal or Head of School. The role focuses on delivering the Taaleem curriculum, inspiring students and fostering a love of lifelong learning.

Key responsibilities

• Represent knowledge, understanding and skills to students.
• Inculcate values of truth, justice, equality, human rights, benevolence and compassion.
• Engage and motivate students to exceed expectations.
• Use subject knowledge, pedagogic and interpersonal skills to enthuse learners.
• Integrate ICT and new technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
• Plan lessons that consider individual learning needs, styles and capabilities.
• Encourage students to become confident, independent lifelong learners.
• Maintain professional relationships and contribute to school improvement.
• Plan and deliver enrichment activities to complement the curriculum.
• Co‑operate with colleagues on fair disciplinary practices and protect students from abuse.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress while maintaining confidentiality.
• Model academic honesty and contribute to department meetings.
• Support after‑school activities and community events as required.
