Environmental Engineer – Risk & Reliability (UAE)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is looking for an Environmental Engineer to deliver Environmental & Social risk management, sustainability, LEED, and GHG management services across the Middle East, primarily in the UAE, Oman, and KSA. The role is office‑based in Abu Dhabi with occasional travel to client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare commercial and technical proposals under line‑manager direction.
• Write Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects in the UAE and KSA, integrating specialist inputs such as terrestrial ecology and soil‑groundwater assessments.
• Develop Environmental Management Plans (CEMP, OEMP) and support delivery of EIA, SIA, BAT, GHG, and other environmental reports.
• Interpret baseline survey reports and technical modelling outputs for inclusion in EIA documentation.
• Conduct Health, Safety, Environmental Impact Assessments (HSEIA) and site visits.
• Estimate man‑days for proposals/tenders, attend client meetings, issue data request forms, and review documents.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience (mid‑level) or 8–12 years (senior) in HSE risk engineering, preferably within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sectors.
• Excellent written and verbal English with strong technical report writing skills.

Required skills

• Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Impact Assessment (SIA), Best Available Techniques (BAT), GHG management.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 14064, ISO 26000, GRI standards.
• Modelling tools: SoundPlan (noise), AERMOD (air dispersion), hydrodynamic modelling, OilMap, MIKE‑2.
• Familiarity with ADNOC, ARAMCO, QE, PDO, KOC standards and relevant international standards.
• Exposure to environmental chemistry, marine ecology, biodiversity (preferred).
