Executive Director – Head of Carbon Markets

About the role

The Executive Director – Head of Carbon Markets will lead FAB’s carbon‑market franchise, covering both compliance and voluntary segments. Reporting to the Commodity Desk Head, you will shape product offerings, drive trading activity and embed carbon solutions across the bank’s regional and global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and expand FAB’s carbon markets franchise in compliance (ETS) and voluntary markets.
• Represent FAB in UAE carbon ecosystem working groups and industry forums.
• Partner with sales, coverage, ESG and other product teams to design and deliver carbon solutions.
• Trade, price and risk‑manage carbon contracts, ensuring adherence to desk limits.
• Originate and price carbon offsets, generating P&L through deep market expertise.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, counterparties and market participants.
• Support the creation of a carbon flow business and coordinate with international FAB centers.

Required profile

• Extensive senior experience in commodity or carbon market trading and origination.
• Strong understanding of ETS, carbon offsets and voluntary market dynamics.
• Proven ability to generate revenue and manage risk within set limits.
• Excellent stakeholder management and networking skills across the UAE carbon ecosystem.
