Executive Director, Surveillance & Financing

About the role

The Executive Director of Surveillance and Financing leads the design and delivery of the Arab Monetary Fund’s lending strategies and regional economic surveillance. Reporting to senior leadership, this role ensures timely financial assistance to member countries while strengthening macro‑economic risk assessment and policy dialogue across the Arab region.

Key responsibilities

• Align lending programmes with AMF’s strategic objectives and oversee the growth of non‑financial and externally financed assistance.
• Monitor lending risk exposure, manage arrears, and implement mitigation strategies to prevent defaults.
• Design and deliver regional surveillance and research activities, leveraging data and analytics to support economic growth.
• Develop policies and regulatory procedures that enhance transparency and institutional effectiveness.
• Lead capacity‑building initiatives to improve financial governance in member states.
• Manage the department’s budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in financial surveillance, lending, and macro‑economic policy.
• Proven ability to lead large teams, coordinate regional technical committees, and engage with high‑level stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset with experience in risk assessment and mitigation.
• Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing strategic financial programmes.
