Experienced Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Experienced Software Engineer to join a globally distributed product ecosystem built on open‑source technology. The role blends hands‑on development with system design, debugging, performance optimisation and collaboration across international teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, improve and maintain software for publishing, e‑commerce, content management and communication platforms.
• Develop reliable, scalable solutions while balancing performance, maintainability and abstraction costs.
• Participate throughout the engineering lifecycle from problem understanding to deployment and continuous improvement.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues using systematic debugging approaches.
• Collaborate asynchronously with globally distributed engineering teams through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to open‑source projects and apply AI‑assisted development tools where appropriate.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience delivering production‑quality software at scale.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, abstraction and trade‑offs between technical complexity and business value.
• Excellent debugging and problem‑solving abilities for deep technical challenges.
• High standards for code quality, reliability and maintainability.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
• Willingness to travel 3–4 weeks per year for in‑person team meetups.
