Fabrication Team Leader

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural model projects from drawing review and file preparation through fabrication, finishing and delivery.
• Edit and prepare AutoCAD and Rhino files for accurately scaled model production, 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC machining.
• Work hands‑on with the team to fabricate buildings, façades, landscaping, model bases and detailed components.
• Plan production schedules, assign tasks and monitor progress against project deadlines.
• Train junior team members in fabrication techniques, material handling, assembly, finishing and quality control.
• Set clear quality standards, provide constructive feedback and lead by example.
• Identify fabrication challenges early and develop practical solutions.
• Estimate material and labour requirements, reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
• Coordinate with management on project priorities, resources and production updates.
• Maintain an organised workshop and safe working practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in architectural model making with strong hands‑on fabrication and finishing abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership of a workshop or production team and experience training junior staff.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings, scales, dimensions and construction details.
• Strong planning, communication and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Willingness to take ownership, adapt to changing priorities and work closely within a small startup team.
• Portfolio of completed physical models clearly showing your contribution.
